A New Problem For Obama? His Aushwitz liberating Uncle who hid in the attic, was in the navy!http://www.riehlworldview.com/
A New Problem For Obama? Okay, so we have supposedly learned that it was Obama’s Great Uncle that liberated a sub-section of Buchenwald, not an uncle at Auschwitz. But if sources are correct and unless there’s some arcane military history in his favor, Obama still has a problem.
His only Great Uncle is Charles W. Payne. It at least appears that no one by that name from Kansas served in the Army during WWII.
Charles W. Payne of Kansas, with a similar birth era, served in the Navy during WWII.
What Obama’s campaign released via first link above states he served in the Infantry. I assume it’s possible the records are wrong, or he changed branches. But I’m unaware of that as a standard practice. Perhaps it happened during WWII for manpower reasons? Otherwise, Obama’s Great Uncle would seem to have done most of his marching and liberating while at sea.
Information about the infantry division that Obama’s great uncle was a part of that took part in the liberation of a sub-camp of the Buchenwald concentration camp in Nazi German:
Brilliant, Democratic candidate Barack Obama maybe should study plain folk’s common sense. And, guess what, “Some dichos have classical or biblical roots”

In today’s Washington Times Editorial, reference to the Pew foundation’s recent poll study is made: Tough Times for GOP …the Pew Research Center for the People & the Press commissioned a telephone survey of more than 2,000 adults between Oct. 17 and Oct. 23. Pew recently issued a 62-page report titled, A Year Ahead, Republicans Face Tough Political Terrain.
It ain’t over until it’s over.
And with observations such as this: “The Democratic advantage as the “more honest and ethical” party, ” it makes the whole study very, very suspicious.
Few at Pew, know where it’s at….
Another weathervane…. Mr. Alan Greenspan
But at least, “While condemning Democrats, too, for rampant federal spending, he offers Bill Clinton an exemption. The former president emerges as the political hero of “The Age of Turbulence: Adventures in a New World,”….
He says of the administration, “Little value was placed on rigorous economic policy debate or the weighing of long-term consequences.” The large, anticipated federal budget surpluses that were the basis for Bush’s initial $1.35 trillion tax cut “were gone six to nine months after George W. Bush took office.” So Bush’s goals “were no longer entirely appropriate. He continued to pursue his presidential campaign promises nonetheless.”…
why didn’t he speak up while in office… Why didn’t he resign if he could not stomach the way things were going… But didn’t President Bush bestow on him the coveted Congressional medal of freedom… (More)
A reader of this newly inaugurated blog and maximus supporter of President Bush sent me an article and suggested that I summarize its content and place it on the website. ( I was under the wrong impression that the Bush Administration, while concentrating on Iraq and the Middle East had somewhat forgotten Latin America.) Like many concerned citizens I follow the news and keep up with the current information. Of course I knew of this Administration’s good rapport with Brasil’s Lula da Silva and others (leftist governments) in the region. But hearing the Democrats sing-along one would think that Bush is vilified everywhere. Most surely, it couldn’t be further from the truth and that is the only reason they are making so much noise. (YAWN). For the times, they are a changing… and yesterday, on occasion of the White House Conference of the Americas, inaugurated in Arlington Va., by both President and Mrs. Bush, Condoleezza Rice, who also participated, gave a candid interview to several newspapers from Latin America. In an interview printed in today’s Argentine daily, La Nacion, Dr. Rice speaks openly and without “pelos en la lengua” (telling it like it is) to reporters. Her reminder to Argentina that “it should pay attention to the real means for progress that are a free market, free commerce, an open economy and job creation based on real economic performance.” She affirms that the private sector and not the public, is the only motor behind real economic expansion. For her, the US has excellent relations with Mexico, Brasil, Uruguay and Chile; bad or none whatsoever with Venezuela and Cuba, and has certain differences with Argentina. She praises Argentina’s debt restructuring and its new found political stability after the collapse at the end of 2001 and beginning of 2002. But candidly points out how Argentina seems to have forgotten the help provided by the US during that crisis…. It was the US that intervened in front of the IMF on behalf of Argentina when most countries (read Spain, Italy, Germany and others that lobbied against Argentina in International forums as a result of the country’s default on its external debt in early 2002)… …”that the [Argentines] have a friend in the US as we have shown time and again”…and reiterated the axiom that a sound economy results from the growth of the private sector. She mentioned that Patience (a virtue) … is also required in creating the base to accomodate prosperity… She finished the interview speaking of the Administration’s positive agenda for Latin America that has absolutely nothing to do with Hugo Chavez’s rhetoric…extraordinary relations with Mexico, Brasil, Chile and Argentina (despite differences). “Our Agenda for Latin America deals with democratic stability, health and education.” President Bush Condoleezza Rice Latin America Argentina IMF Hugo Chavez White House Conference of the Americas Democrats Republicans

Madame Clinton obviously suffers from amnesia or thinks blindly that all Americans are like her followers, blind and gullible…In her own words, on President’s Bush decision to pardon Scooter Libby, she pronounced:
“Today’s decision is yet another example that this Administration simply considers itself above the law. This case arose from the Administration’s politicization of national security intelligence and its efforts to punish those who spoke out against its policies. Four years into the Iraq war, Americans are still living with the consequences of this White House’s efforts to quell dissent. This commutation sends the clear signal that in this Administration, cronyism and ideology trump competence and justice.”
Madame Clinton, please, check your statements with your husband’s advisors, maybe Sandy Berger, “of stealing documents from the National Archives, oops, fame”, or simpler, yet, just go directly to http://www.usdoj.gov/pardon/clintonpardon_grants.htm ….to refresh your memory….
“Free speech exercised both individually and through a free press, is a necessity in any country where people are themselves free.”Theodore Roosevelt, 1918
The Democrats are at it again… now, trying to suppress FREE SPEECH.

This has been a good week for wisdom, fairness and the American political system.First, the Supreme Court rules correctly that race should not be a factor in school assignments. The decision had a bare 5-4 majority but at least it was a victory for fairness. Then the “comprehensive immigration” bill that was incomprehensible was killed. The chances of it being resurrected before 2008 are slim and infinitesimal. Then the House voted 309-115 to shut off all talk of restoring the Fairness Doctrine. Common sense is rarely as contagious as the flu but perhaps good decisions are catching in Washington.A number of senators, including Dick Durbin, D-Ill., Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., and John Kerry, D-Mass., said last week the Fairness Doctrine should be reinstated.Translated into reality, the Fairness Doctrine would eliminate most conservative talk shows. The doctrine would mandate stations that broadcast a conservative talk radio show, “balance” it with a liberal show. However, the public is staying away from liberal talk shows in droves. With good reason, one might add. Clearly, the federal government should not be in the business of managing political talk in the airwaves, nor should it be in the business of managing political talk in movies or television. Alas, the three senators, and their allies, showed the propensity of so many folks – they believe in free speech only if that speech agrees with them. Speech that doesn’t agree with their points of view are subject to regulation. More (more…)
