Two of the largest water company in the State want to raise interest rates by between 15 and 25 percent if State regulators approve, hiking the Bill for more than 3 million residents of New Jersey.
Companies, the New Jersey American water and United water New Jersey, said the increase in the level of around 15 and 25 per cent, respectively, are meant to pay for critical infrastructure maintenance and upgrade.
New Jersey American water is asking for an increase in the level will increase the monthly bill for households which use on average 6,500 gallons of water every month from $ 49.69 to $ 57, according to spokesman Richard Barnes.
